it all began at a tattoo shop.

I shadowed a tattoo artist for a day — and then eventually got a tattoo to immerse myself in the project. The goal was to create something that was both useful and original.

INK SESSION & field research

The key finding was how many times John (tattoo artist) changed his gloves out for fresh ones: about 10 times during a 1.5 hour session. It took him about 30-40 seconds each time and he sees about 3-4 clients daily.

Concept development

A glove “mechanism” that reduces the time spent putting on gloves while also decreasing potential contamination. Some design considerations : hand sizes, multi-context(s), function, & scaleability.
